Faux Fur or Faux Pas
previous post
“faux pas” pronounced fō ˈpä
noun: an embarrassing or tactless act.
It’s winter which means it’s faux leather and fur season. I’ve had this skirt for a few years but the jacket is new and I actually had a love/hate relationship with it when I saw it hanging on the rack. I slowly pulled it out, cringed and thought “what is this matted thing?” before pushing it back in between the other items. After walking away I couldn’t stop thinking about it haha. I loved the pastel colors and how they blended seamlessly into one another. It was so gaudy and felt like a faux pas to casually stroll the streets wearing it yet it was so different that it ended up coming home with me. I’m glad it did because it’s surprisingly photogenic. Since the jacket is over the top glam, I paired it with the black leather skirt to add a little edge.
You can’t help but feel a little “extra” when wearing this jacket so I paired it with blingy stud earrings and a pink rope stone necklace that paired well with the colors in the jacket.
Have you ever had a shopping experience similar to mine?
If your more of a love at first sight shopper, what is your favorite winter piece you've purchased and are excited to wear each year?
