Staying at the most beautiful hostel in Barcelona

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HOSTEL IN BARCELONA

Casa Gracia is one of the most beautiful hostels, and I’ve stayed in many throughout Europe. It’s perfectly situated in the historic center of Vila de Gràcia which is my preferred area, even after staying at an Airbnb a few streets away from Sagrada Familia. Vila de Gràcia is less touristy, low-key district of organic grocers, hip co-working spaces, artist studios, and narrow streets sprinkled with cozy squares.

Casa Gracia resembles a high-end boutique hotel, but with the hostel perks we know and love, like affordability, free activities, and a social environment. If you’re the type of traveler who prefers total privacy, there are a variety of accommodations to choose from

TYPES OF ACCOMMODATIONS:

  • Bed in a mixed dorm
  • Bed in a female dorm
  • Private Rooms: Individual, Double Standard, Double Superior & Triple. There are also 4 and 6 person rooms perfect for those traveling with a group of friends. They also offer privates suites and apartments with a full kitchen.

  • Free Storage: Arriving earlier than the check-in time? There is a free storage room available for you to leave your bag while you explore the city.
  • Balcony with a view: My room was located in the front of the building on Passeig de Gràcia and offered a large balcony overlooking the beautiful tree-lined Jardins de Salvador Espriu.
  • Breakfast: Breakfast not only includes cold options like cereal, bread, cheese, and fruit but also hot options like eggs and ham which is rare to find at a hostel. Breakfast can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors on their beautiful patio which is sprinkled with bistro tables and lush greenery and is where I preferred to enjoy breakfast each morning.
  • Free Sheets & Towels:  If you’ve stayed in hostels then you know towels aren’t always promised but are a glorious amenity when they’re included
  • Restaurant & Bar: There is a restaurant and bar on the main floor and if you’re looking for an even cooler experience, there’s a “bank vault” in the basement that can be reserved for an intimate dinner party.
  • Night Club: In the basement next to the vault you’ll find Casa Gracia’s very own night club (check with the front desk for upcoming events)
  • Beautiful common areas: The main living room is beautifully decorated and includes a large communal table, hide skin chairs, cozy sofas, and a hammock. There is a library and sitting room and so many other spaces to explore throughout.
  • Activities: There’s a free walking tour that is expected with hostels but they go a step ahead with free yoga classes. The front desk staff is extremely friendly, be sure to grab a map and a schedule of activities.
  • Beautiful Neighborhood: Casa Gracia is located in beautiful Gràcia. Take a stroll around the neighborhood and stop in one of its many squares like Plaça de la Vila and Placa de Sol, both great places to sit on a bench and watch as locals socialize in groups around the square and families watch their children play.
